Development of new methodology for 3D soil hydraulic property mapping and testing its application on the catchment of Lake Balaton

DERIVED HYDRAULIC PEDOTRANSFER FUNCTIONS

The hydraulic pedotransfer functions were derived on the Hungarian Detailed Soil Hydrophysical Database (Makó et al., 2010), extended with topographical, meteorological, geological information and remotely sensed vegetation properties. With the pedotransfer functions, soil water content at 0, -330 and -15,000 cm matric potential values – saturated water content (*PF0*.rdata), field capacity (*PF2_5*.rdata) and wilting point (*PF4_2*.rdata) – can be predicted. The prediction algorithms were computed with random forest method in the R package ranger, and are available in R Data Format with .rdata extension. Please find further information about the pedotransfer functions in Tóth et al. (2018).
